dentistry is art.
As a student of art with a concentration in portraiture, Dr. Weiler's passion for his work stems from the artistic nature inherent throughout all fields of dentistry. With esthetics and cosmetics becoming increasingly important, dental materials have evolved to eliminate the use of metals while maintaining optimal strength and providing the perfect balance between form and function.
These materials, which mimic the translucency and esthetics of natural teeth, include porcelain, ceramics, and zirconia. While in the past, porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crowns were the standard, we no longer have to worry about the "black lines near the gums" (metal showing at the gumline) or unnatural-looking restorations.
